808Talk Episode #26 - Aloha From Japan
Aloha from Japan. I start off today’s show with a remote cast from Tokyo, Japan. I wanted to make sure that my listener’s still got the weekly dose of 808Talk, even while I was away on business in the land of the rising sun. So in the first segment of this episode I talk about some exciting things that took place while I was in Japan, including the pro-golfer Michelle Wie’s arrival in Kochi, Japan to participate in the Casio World Open. Everything from an earthquake to the U.S. and Russian President’s visit were on the menu for this past week in Japan. Moving on to the focus of our show and topics Hawaii, I featured a great local singer and musician named Leora and in the news of the islands, discussed a tragic death, the UH Basketball team’s upset of number 4 ranked Michigan State, news of the possible PGA pull from Kauai and a few other local topics of interest. Reiko and I discussed different foods found in 7-Eleven Hawaii and the difference in the McDonalds menu in the islands as compared to the mainland counterpart. Our recommend place to visit is the amazing North Shore of Oahu which is the ideal hot spot for visitor’s this time of the year. Update on the 808Talk Contest is still no winner as of yet and we encourage our listener’s to please call us with any comments at our audio comment line 206-350-2668. A new addition to our 808Talk Listener’s page is the Frappr page which allows you to post a pin on our world map. For the next few months we are conducting a listener survey, so if you have time please help us by contributing your input at this link. Until next weekend, have a wonderful week and share some Aloha.
