East Coast Hawaiian Aloha Tour
Three award-winning Hawaiian Island artists have united their musical talents under the touring moniker “Hawaiian Aloha” to perform on the East Coast this January as well as Summer 2009 dates. Raiatea Helm (two-time GRAMMY nominee), Kohala (featuring Hawaii’s first GRAMMY recipient Charles Michael Brotman), and Keale (first cousin of Hawaii’s revered musician Israel Kamakawiwo’ole) begin their tour in New York City with showcases for the annual APAP (Association of Performing Arts Presenters) conference. Their New York performances include the upscale Manhattan World and Jazz music venue ‘DROM‘ on Monday, 1/12/09, and the famous ‘B.B. King’s‘ in Times Square on Wednesday, 1/21/09. Their tour will also include performances in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area where Helm, Kohala, and Keale will be joined by other noted Hawaiian Island musicians for the Tuesday, 1/20/09, Hawaii State Society Presidential Inaugural Ball performance in Washington, D.C .
In their East Coast performances, each artist will be featured via their own performance set, as well as a performance set together. Their joint performances will include a song recently written and completed specifically for the Hawaii State Society Presidential Inaugural Ball and President elect Barack Obama, entitled “Hawaii’s Gift”.
Raiatea Helm, 2 time GRAMMY nominee, is Hawaii’s young female vocalist with a style that comprises both the traditional and the future of Hawaiian music.

The Hawaiian Aloha Tour presents an unusual opportunity for the U.S. Mainland, East Coast Music and Entertainment Industry as well as the General Listening public. This rare opportunity to experience the most popular and accomplished, acoustic representation, of award-winning music existing on the Hawaiian Islands today is sonically incomparable.
