Jim Nabors

Jim Nabors is well known for his notable career on television, music recordings, theater, revues and movies. His character, Gomer Pyle from the “Andy Griffith Show” and “Gomer Pyle USMC” airing in the 1960′s are still in syndication today.

He is also remembered in Hawaii for his “Friends & Nabors” holiday shows at the Hawaiian Theater with a cast of over 100. December 2009 was the last call for this production as Jim Nabors has officially retired.

  1. Mr.Jim Nabors, you are sort of like my Hero,as I tuned in to Gomer Pyle on the Andy Griffith Show, and Gomer Pyle USMC,every week, and still enjoy the re-runs. When I entered the US Navy in 1968,you were Idolized by soldiers&sailors alike, and I honestly believe,we were better because of that. As June will be approaching soon ,I want to wish you a Happy Birthday{you share June w/my late father-June-2nd-1919}and I feel honored by that. Thank you Mr. Nabors for the many, many laughs, but yet teaching us to accept everybody as individuals,andw/respect. May you continue to have a Blessed Life! Sincerely,Ben Doty-Michigan.

  13. Jim Nabors in Gomer Pyle was hugely popular here in Australia. I am enjoying watching the reruns. I haven’t stopped laughing. We aussies can do the southern drawl thanks to the Andy Griffiths Show, Gomer Pyle and Bonanza (Hoss Cartwright, dern burn it!), but we suck at the yankee accent.

  14. Mr. Nabors,

God has blessed you and we have all been blessed over these many years with your talents in comedy and the gifted voice. I wish you the very best in your retirement, but please make yourself available in the years to come for interviews or talk shows. We will miss you and above all, thanks for “The Impossible Dream.”
I still get chills up my back when I listen to you sing this amazing song!

    Stay well, and God Bless!

  15. I very much enjoy Sunrise Sunset.

  16. Hi Jim,

I just played over and over again your version of `Impossible dream`as Gomer Pyle.

Your voice I believe is a gift from God (I am a christian) and I cannot understand why you would retire!! If you would come to Australia every RSL would be booked out for ever.

    Cheers,
    Don.
