Views From Honolulu Twestival 2011
Honolulu Twestival 2011
“On Thursday March 24, 2011, people in hundreds of cities around the world came together offline to rally around the important cause of supporting a local charity in their city by hosting local events to have fun and create awareness. Twestival (or Twitter Festival) uses social media for social good. All of the local events were organized 100% by volunteers and 100% of all ticket sales and donations went direct to local recipients. Honolulu was pleased to support the Hawaii Blood Bank at the 2011 Honolulu Twestival. In addition due to the recent events of the earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Japan, the Honolulu Twestival team was also happy to have the Hawaii Red Cross on location to collect donations for the relief efforts ongoing in Japan.“
