Located on Highway 560 in Ha’ena, North Kauai, this is the easiest of two wet caves to access as it is located just off the road. Sea caves are formed by thousands of years of ocean waves pounding against the lava and eventually etching out a cavern. At one time, the ocean was up to this point. Legend states that this cave was built by Pele, the volcano goddess, for her lover. But when they filled with water, she abandoned them.

Ayumi Hamasaki (浜崎あゆみ Hamasaki Ayumi, also 濱崎歩; born October 2, 1978) is a Japanese singer-songwriter, record producer, model, lyricist, and actress. Also called “Ayu” by her fans, Hamasaki has been dubbed the “Empress of Pop” because of her popularity and widespread influence in Japan and throughout Asia. Born and raised in Fukuoka, she moved to Tokyo at fourteen to pursue a career in entertainment. In 1998, under the tutelage of Avex CEO Max Matsuura, she released a string of modestly selling singles that concluded with her 1999 debut album A Song for ××. The album debuted atop the Oricon charts and stayed there for four weeks, establishing her popularity in Japan.

Her married name is Yuki Isarai (小井由貴 Isarai Yuki), though she continues to work under her maiden name. She attended Kanagawa Prefectural Shimizugaoka High School (now Yokohama Seiryo Sogo High School). Her father owns a long-standing and respected obi shop, and her brother is the actor Ryūji Saitō.
